In talking to my son's friends about college I was made aware of two of his friends that did not think they could afford college so they joined the National Guard. I knew these boys and realized that they would get Pell Grants to go to school but they nor their parents had any idea what they would qualify for. After I worked with them and a few others to help them complete their FAFSA, I realized the need in our community to educate our students and parents about existing funds that are available to them.
Sheila Morgan began Beyond Graduation by first recruiting additional volunteers. Arita Bohannan and Gretchen Morgan were instrumental in developing Beyond Graduation and it's Home Run program.
Our Home Run program is designed to simplify the post secondary education application process. We also have access to our high school computer lab on a regular basis to help students and their parents with the entire process.
